Baby Shower

My baby shower was a couple of weeks ago and it was just the pick me up I needed! I had it at home with a few friends from work and other friends I’ve met while living in Doha. I had such a lovely afternoon and was spoilt rotten.

There was no real theme as such just pretty shades of pink and a splash of gold for my princess. I loved how my flower wall turned out! It was handmade with a mix of paper and artificial flowers. The paper flowers were ordered from Hobbycraft. My friends and I spent Friday morning rushing to put it together. It’s hard to find stuff like that in Doha so you can’t be afraid to try a bit of DIY! I also ordered napkins, paper plates and straws from Hobbycraft as they have a great selection available and are fairly cheap in comparison to Qatar prices. Some of my decorations came from Party Kingdom Qatar, they have a nice selection of balloons and tableware and they have various stalls at different locations around Qatar.

Everyone knows I have always had a serious cake craving! So, of course, I had to have something special for my baby shower! Oh My Gosh…. Let me tell you this cake was not only stunning but it tasted so damn good! I opted for a classic victoria sponge-esque centre with buttercream and strawberry jam. It was divine. I ordered it from Pinkie Lulu and she did such a brilliant job! We had so much left over and it literally fed me for a week.

My dress was from ASOS. It was meant to be maternity but it was definitely on the snug side. It took a few attempts to get it on. Again finding nice maternity wear in Doha is not easy, so I’ve ordered most items from the UK.  All my guests looked gorgeous too!

We didn’t get through all the games but the ones we did were a good laugh- baby shower charades, labour or lovin, baby shower pictionary and a baby shower wordsearch. Etsy have a great range that you can download and it’s worth looking on Pinterest too. We didn’t quite get through everything though.  I think me stopping a million times to get my munch on and having a good catch up with everyone slowed us down a bit….. oops.

I had some beautiful gifts and princess and I are really lucky to have such thoughtful friends. I’m incredibly grateful for all of our wonderful presents and cards!

Finally, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped out beforehand and throughout the afternoon I could not have done it without you- you all know who you are! A special thanks to maliandmeqatar for taking some stunning shots of all my guests and making us look gorgeous!

Much Love
